NarratorPro
Complete Narration Recording and Audio Files
Management Software
Download for Just $49!
All you need is a microphone and a sound card in your computer
that allows you to record with it.
Before starting a NarratorPro session,
RIGHT-click on the sound card icon in your System Tray (lower-right side
of your desktop). Select RECORDING DEVICES and select/test your
microphone. If no recording
devices
are shown, RIGHT-click in the box and check the box to SHOW DISCONNECTED DEVICES
and SHOW DISABLED DEVICES (Vista hides them by default). Note. Some
computers using Vista, particularly some laptops, do not have the ability to
record "What U Hear" or "Wave In" or "Stereo Mix" which is required when you
want to mix theme music into your recorded narrations. If your computer
doesn't have this capability, I suggest you get a USB Sound Device. The
one I use with my laptop is the Creative Labs
"X-fi" which will give you a "What U Hear" function. |
The
cover page is the place to start a NEW PROJECT, OPEN an existing
PROJECT, or SETUP the PROJECT that you currently have open.
From here, you may also select a playback device from a drop-down
list.If you are reading from a document that will be displayed on
your computer, you may store the path or link to it under PROJECT
SETUP, then open it by clicking OPEN NARRATIVE DOCUMENT. Most
people will be reading from printed matter, but this option is there
as a shortcut to your stored document.
The book/pamphlet name, and the names of the author, narrator,
and publisher, will be encoded into the final audio files (depending
on the files' capability to store them). A .PDF document is
prepared which summarizes the files prepared and converted into a
final set of audio files.

First,
name the chapter (which will be encoded into the converted audio
file.If the file is locked, click on the "File Is Locked" button to
unlock it. Then click RECORD and lay down the narration.
When you are finished, click STOP. Select a RATING to remind
yourself which chapters are still "works in progress," then lock the
file again to keep you from inadvertently overwriting it. To
hear the recording, click the play button (Triangle) under Playback.
When you are happy with all of your narrations, give them the two
thumbs-up and on the right handed page for each chapter, then close
out the program.
Go back to your Sound settings (RIGHT-click on the Sound click
START MIX and either play the narration or begin any theme music you
have stored under the project settings (not included, but tons of
royalty-free theme music is available at
NeoSounds and other web
sites. This Step TWO is optional, because when you do the final
convert it will look to see whether you have a raw narration file or
a narration with theme music mixed-in. If both exist, it will
choose the mix as the one to use during the final convert. |
Once
you have recorded all of your chapter narrations, go back to the
cover page and click FINALIZE AND CONVERT to organize and convert
the final audio files into whichever format you wish. Simply
choose the format from the drop-down list, then the codec and
quality of the finished file, then click CONVERT AUDIO FILES. |
IMPORTANT USER NOTES:
- You have a great deal of flexibility on where your project
files and audio files are stored. If you save a project
as, say, "HeyBud.NAR" in one folder, then later open the "HeyBud.NAR"
folder you previously stored in another folder, you may wonder
why some audio files are missing. It's because the file
locations for the audio were not recorded in the earlier saving
of the "HeyBud.NAR" in the other folder.
- You MUST install the demo and try it out with your computer
before purchasing the software. This is to ensure the
software is compatible with the sound devices you have on your
computer. The software, once purchased, is non-refundable
(think "you can't put the toothpaste back in the tube").
